From Sim to Reality: The Journey of Giuliano “Gulz” Senese
Giuliano Senese, known as “Gulz”, is a 28-year-old Melbourne-born athlete with a lifelong passion for motorsport. His journey started in karting at just seven years old, but financial constraints forced him to put racing on hold. Instead, he pursued football, playing at a high level in Australia’s NPL and training in Spain. He even coached at the Juventus Academy in Melbourne, training top young talent and working with Juventus in Italy.
Despite his football success, motorsport remained his true calling. In 2020, Giuliano reignited his racing dream through sim racing, competing in high-profile endurance events like the 24 Hours of Le Mans, 24 Hours of Spa, and 12 Hours of Bathurst on iRacing. His commitment to improving his craft eventually led to purchasing his own Formula BMW race car in 2022.
Now, Giuliano is transitioning from virtual racing to real-world competition, testing his car at Winton Raceway and working toward a future in professional motorsport.

The Road to Pro Racing
Gulz is currently building his real-world race experience through private testing and sim racing while exploring potential competition opportunities. Here’s how he plans to break into professional motorsport:
2025 Testing Program – Ongoing track time at Winton Raceway to refine racecraft, car setup, and consistency.
Data Analysis & Coaching – Working with experienced drivers and engineers to accelerate learning.
Seeking State-Level Competition – Exploring series that will allow him to race the Formula BMW competitively.
Potential Formula Regional Test – Aiming to step up into a more advanced category with the right backing.
Exploring Sponsorships & Partnerships – Funding is the biggest hurdle; Gulz is actively looking for supporters who believe in his journey.
“I set up my sim at home and got in contact with Tim Macrow. In my first professional simulation, I was faster than all of his current drivers. Every session, I kept pushing myself to go even quicker. This is just the beginning.”
